Why English?

Commitment. The only way to really learn something is to dive throught.
Finished Duolingo.
From there, EVERY movie, English only, WITHOUT subtitles. You Cannot understand? That's better, your brain will enforce more. I started with the ones you can understand even if you cannot get the speach: Toy Story, then Ice Age, then everything else.
Then complete TV shows. Start with the ones you know the English is almost correct. SF fan: Star Trek, NG, Vouyager, Firefly,
then harder ones
The wire, the shield,
Now? Everything.
Am I good? Far from it. You have to learn at 5, not 50. Your brain start loosing the ability to learn distinct sounds.
I remember a 3 weeks trip to Scan Optics Inc, Irvine. My English, almost a zero, but What an oportunity to learn and lern!
My partner was much more fluent. He used it well: the very first words every converstation he had:

ScanOptics. Trainer: from Mexico. Mates: An argentinian partner, a chinese girl, an italian guy, a nice girl from Sacramento. Everyone WANTED Spanish. The US girl, just to be polite, as she learned Spanish to talk to her sister in law, a mexican girl who refused to learn English in USA. The italian guy, he couldnt talk Spanish but he could understand Spanish far better than English. What about the chinese girl? Joi. (or Jo-I ? Can't remember) She could speak SEVEN languages, being Spanish the last and the more difficult to get to practice, so she was very very happy to talk to us. Very talkative. she spoke a fluent and very beautiful Spanish with a nice French accent touch.
